Watercolorist and Old Saybrook resident, Kay R. Brigante is an avid plein air painter and an active participant in exhibitions and art associations along the shoreline. She paints socially with the Connecticut Shoreline Artists, traveling throughout the state capturing familiar imagery and local scenery. Kay's serene landscapes are often composed of calm colors and soft organic forms. She expresses control over an unyielding medium, yet her painting style seems loose and effortless. never overworked or contrived, her palette creating balance and harmony. Kay says, "unlike traditional watercolor techniques, I push and pull negative and positive shapes to arrive at the design I see within the subject before me".

She has exhibited with Silvermine Art Guild, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts,Shoreline Arts Alliance.
